Other Dolls
The 5 inch dolls were not the only dolls produced in the 1990's.
Ragdolls and a blow kiss doll were also made.
Ragdoll
In 1991/ 1992 one rag doll was made. That rag doll
was the Berry Best Party doll (to look like the 5 inch doll
of the same name). Some people call her the "Berrykin" ragdoll
due to the fact that she has striped tights that look like Berrykin
tights, however
the mention of "Berrykin" is no where on her box or tags.
Doesn't the little girl from the box look happy to have her own
Strawberry
Shortcake ragdoll?
Here is my Strawberry Shortcake ragdoll with the box. She does
smell
like strawberries!
The back of the box says:
Strawberry Shortcake Rag Doll is
soft
and cuddly and loves snuggling up to her favorite friend--you!
Strawberry
scented and extra sweet. Strawberry Shortcake always gives you
her
berry best hugs!
The photo seen of the Baby Strawberry Shortcake doll on
all of the 1991 boxes is a photo of a 1980's Kenner Blow Kiss doll and
not a 1991 Sweet Kisses doll
Blow Kiss doll
AKA Sweet Kisses Strawberry Shortcake
One of the rarest 1991 item is the Blow Kiss doll.
She is called "Sweet Kisses Strawberry Shortcake" and is believed
to have been only
released in Australia. She is difficult to find complete
and currently only 10 MIB dolls are known to belong to
collectors.
Like her 1980's predecessor, Blow Kiss Strawberry Shortcake blows
strawberry scented kisses. But unlike her 1980's counterpart, her
eyes are looking
up toward the person holding her and her legs are positioned so that
she
is in more of a kneeling position. She is wearing an opened back
bonnet with strawberries on it, green and white striped panties, a
strawberry
dress and almost impossible to find pink and white striped booties.
A
loose doll (depending on condition) goes for $25-$50 and the last time
a
doll was seen complete in the box, she went for over $100.
The side of the box reads:
She's
berry sweet and so much fun to love. Just give her a hug and
she'll blow you a strawberry scented kiss!
