The 1991 Strawberry
Shortcake Berry Bake Shop comes with twenty pieces. According to
the box, it has "everything you need for play-baking fun!" The pretend
strawberries and pies were strawberry scented.
This is what the Berry Bake Shop looked like according to the back of the
Strawberry Shortcake doll cards.
Notice that many of the colors of the pieces are incorrect.
Here is a picture of the front of the Berry Bake Shop box.
The text on the back of the box says the following:
"Strawberry Shortcake's Berry Bake Shop is a sweet combination of pretend
baking fun and fold-up storage case--all in one! With the strawberry
garden, make-believe oven, and pie-selling stand, every little girl will
love "making and baking" pretend pies and cakes, as well as sharing them
with Strawberry Shortcake and all her berry best friends!"
Here is a close up of the "directions" for the bake shop
Here is a picture of some of the parts for the Berry Bake Shop. Notice
that the watering can is pink instead of yellow.
These are the pictures of the Berry Bake Shop from my collection. I
am still missing the yellow shovel and one of the whipped toppings.
Maple Stirrup and the Oatsmobile
Maple Stirrup and the Oatsmobile was released
in 1992. The horse's name is Maple Stirrup and she was scented like
maple syrup. The box says to "take Strawberry Shortcake and her friends
for a berry fun buggy ride--and have a galloping good time!"
Here is what Maple Stirrup and the Oatsmobile looked like according to
the back of the Strawberry Shortcake cards. Notice that the brush
in this picture is the same one used for the 1984 version, but the 1992
comb is just a regular red Strawberry Shortcake comb.
Here is the front of the box. Thanks Ronnie! My picture wouldn't
turn out.
The back of the box reads:
"Strawberry Shortcake invites you and all your friends to join her in Strawberryland
for delicious days of riding fun with Maple Stirrup and the Oatsmobile!
There's always plenty of sweet sights and playful delights to see as you
ride along, because the berry best place to have a galloping good time is
Strawberryland--of course!"
One of the distinguishing features of the 1992 Oatsmobile is this blanket
that goes under the saddle and the "cap" that goes on top of the basket.
These are made from material that is very similar to Berry Sweet Sleep
Strawberry Shortcake's extra nightgown.
Here are pictures of the Maple Stirrup and Oatsmobile from my collection.
They are the same toy at both angles.
New findings: Confusion about the comb/brush used with Maple Stirrup!
One of my fellow 1991 collectors, Melissa contacted me and said that she
had a 1992 Maple Strirrup and the Oatsmobile that she opened for the first
time herself, and there wasn't the little brush as seen on the back of the
cards, or the red comb like I have. She had a totally different brush!
Here are some pictures.
I bought my set Mint in Box, and it came with the 1980's style red comb,
as did other people I have spoke with. The only answer I can come up
with is that maybe it came with either this brush or the red comb.
I am not sure. If you have any answers, please contact me.
More pictures and information about this item to come!
