Welcome
to Sara's Berry Happy Strawberry Shortcake Room!
Sara lived in the apartment behind the
laudry mat for 5 1/2 years. During that time she got married and
her Strawberry Shortcake doll collection grew. That large
collection was crammed into
two closets while Sara dreamed of one day having a room to house her
collection.
That dream came true in September 2005!!! Sara and Michael
bought
their first home and to everyone's amazement the house has an extra
room
connected to the garage. It once was a beauty salon, but now it
has
been turned into what is now known as "Sara's doll room." Enjoy
the
many photos of this wonderful room.
These two photos show the room prior to moving
in. There is one large
room and one smaller room in the back. Two wooden shelves came
already in the rooms along with a stove, a cabinet and many large
mirrors.
When we first moved in, the "doll room" held
all of our boxes of things! I didn't think I would ever get that
room emptied
of boxes so that I could start unpacking my Strawberry Shortcake
things.
Look at all those boxes!
See that look and what T-shirt I am wearing? It can only mean
one thing! There are 1991 dolls in that box and I am going to set
them out
if it was the last thing I did! At this point, boxes were still
taking
over much of that room; however I just couldn't stand not seeing my
dolls,
so I emptied one of the shelves and started to put out my 1991
collection.
Look at that! The room is no longer
empty or full of boxes but decorated in SSC!! This picture is an
overview of the room. I will now be taking you on a little tour
of each shelf and area, so enjoy!
This is my cork board that I have decorated with various SSC stuff that
I have obtained over the years.
This shelf Michael and I got at a church rummage sale for only $4!
I have my Danbury Mint dolls on top, my glassware in the middle
and some ceramic items on the bottom. There is a lot of room to
grow in this shelf.
Here is "the most comfortable bed in the world." This daybed has
been mine since I was 10 years old and I love it! My 1991 sheets
are on the
bed with several other sheet sets laying on top. I also have my
soft
ragdolls and a few pillow dolls.
Ahh yeah! This is what we are talking about folks! My 1991
Strawberry Shortcake collection. This right here is my pride and
joy right on one shelf with an empty shelf on the bottom farily empty
for growth.
Here is everything that is on my web page. All of my dolls,
playsets, puzzles and anything else I have 1991.
Here are a few more 1991 items next to the big 1991 shelf. I
wasn't sure really how to display the two 1991 girls' outfits I had.
And I wanted to put my 1991 boxed doll out special because it is
the most rare Strawberry
Shortcake item I own.
This shelf has all of my tins on the top, vintage dolls on the next
shelf, Party pleasers and then things such as records and other toys on
the bottom.

Here are my Frutillas card dolls. And Fruittilas poster that I
got from the SSC convention in July 2005. I am missing one
carded doll.
This shelf has all sorts of stuff on it. My minis are on the
very top. The next shelf has my dolls from other countries
including my four Mexican dolls, all my Brazilian dolls (vintage and
modern) and various other dolls from around the world. Then is a
shelf with fake dolls and the bootom has my vintage books.
This shelf houses my Bandai collection, which consists of at least one
of each character in 5 inch doll as well as a some plush dolls and
others. I also have all of the current line of Strawberry
Shortcakes, the Playmates dolls. You can also see in this
photo the Little Tykes Strawberry toybox that I have had since I was a
little girl.

I recently bought this toybox / bench at the local antique mall for
$30! I am so happy to have it and happier still to have a
room to display it.

My husband bought me this easel for Christmas 2005. I really love
it.

I have set up a little Christmas tree on the back counter for my SSC
Christmas decorations
People who saw my collection in my apartment will remember this.
It is the evolution of Strawberry Shortcake shelf. There is
Strawberry in 1980, 1991, and 2002. Which one do you like the
best?
A few tray puzzles on the wall
One more look at the room before we check out the small room in the back

People might not realize it now, but I have a nice Barbie doll
collection. I was shocked that it all fit on this one large
shelf! I have the Dolls of the World, Girls of the 20th Century,
Nostolgic Series and just whatever dolls I like. My favorites
are the 1970's doll and the reproduction of Francie. I am looking
for the first of the Little Debbie Barbies if anyone sees it.
Here is some of my Beatles collection. I say some because those
colorful bins hold all of my vintage and newer Beatles magazines and my
Beatle book collection is in the house. I really love the
magazines and book; but they do not display well. I also like the
Yellow Submarine; which is what my collection focuses on. I have
the entire GarlanUSA set and both of the Spawn sets. I really
love my Beatles stuff. I hope I never have to choose between
Beatle and Strawberry Shortcake because I could
never decide what I liked more.
My mom is amazing at cross stitch. She has made me four
Strawberry Shortcake cross stitches and all of these Beatles ones!
I think the yellow submarine and the cartoon Beatles are amazing!
But they all are
really neat!
The last thing I have to show you was hard for me to get a photo of.
But these are Beatles Anthology Cubes. In the late 1990's
when the Beatles Anthology was first released on VHS; Sam Goody music
at the mall had these on display. Word got out that I am a huge
Beatles fan and the store called me up and gave them to me!
There are three cubes and they have different pictures on them. I
think they are really a neat item to have.
Well...I hope you enjoyed my room. If you are ever in the St.
Louis area please let me know so that you can see it in person!
