Look-alike dolls
There are a few dolls released in 1991-1993 that looked simlar to the 1991 Strawberry Shortcake dolls. These dolls were about five inches tall and had colorful hair. They had large eyes and smelled like a fruit.
One set of these dolls were called "Sweet Scents." They were found in stores such as Wal-green, supermarkets and other drug stores. These dolls were produced by a company called "TNT" and they have been seen in these stores all through the 1990's and even into 2000. Sweet Scents made six dolls.
- Watlermelon: pink and green outfit and pink hair
- Strawberry: red and white outfit and red hair
- Grape: purple and white dress and purple hair
- Chocolate: brown and pink dress and brown hair
- Candy Canes: pink and white dress with white hair
- Bubble Gum: : pink and white dress and pink hair

Another doll that I have found that looks similar to the 1991 Strawberry Shortcake is called "Blooming Babies." I won this doll in a lot on ebay, and I cannot find any information about her. I am not sure if she was the only one made or if there are others. The one I have is still on the card and on the back says: Marketed by Wal-mart stores."
This is my "Blooming Babies" doll. from my collection. She is really cute, but I know nothing about her. If you have any information, please let me know.
