1986-1990
Strawberry Shortcake dolls were produced by Kenner Toys from 1979-1985. At the 1985 Toy Fair the Berrykin line of dolls were introduced, but buyers were not showing interest in Strawberry Shortcake dolls anymore. The Berrykin dolls were only released in the Northern part of the United States, so many fans did not even have a chance to own one. The dolls were discontinued by Kenner in 1985, and many collectors are under the impression that between 1985, when Kenner stopped with the Berrykin dolls and 1991, when Toy HeadQuarters made the new line of dolls, there were no Strawberry Shortcake items produced. It is true that Kenner no longer sold Strawberry Shortcake; however Strawberry Shortcake is owned by American Greetings and Those Characters from Cleveland and they decided the fate of our red headed friend. Between the years 1986-1990, particularly 1987, there were a few Strawberry surprises released.
Ragdolls
Around Christmastime in 1987, a company named "Amtoy" released ragdolls called "Classic friends" According to the back of the box, "Two of the world's best-loved dolls, Strawberry Shortcake and Holly Hobbie, have won the hearts of little girls everywhere. Discover the warm, wonderful feeling these dolls can bring." Two dolls both owned by American Greetings, Strawberry Shortcake and Holly Hobbie were released in this line of ragdolls. They came in two sizes, 13 inches and 18 inches.

Valentine Cards
For Valentines' Day in 1987, American Greetings released Valentine Cards with Strawberry and Shortcake and her friends featured on them. They came in a cute box to carry them in. These cards looked simliar to the Valentines from 1982, however they all have a white boarder and have the date of 1987 on the card. Here are the cards from my collection, however I am missing the box they came in.
